Depositories of Russia

This project intends to provide information required for the INFRASTRUCTURAL INSTITUTE Financial Research Development Foundation (INFI) and PARTAD to rate Russian depositories and specialized depositories on a national scale.

Rating is performed using information submitted by depository and specialized depository service providers to PARTAD Depositories of Russia information database. These efforts result in depository and specialized depository ratings (based on organization performance scoring) and rankings (organizations listed in descending order of the values ranked) presented on this site. Depositories and specialized depositories are rated every half a year using performance indicators over half a year and a year, respectively.

The national depository reliability rating is calculated using an original integrated (qualitative, quantitative and expert) depository reliability evaluation method developed by INFI in cooperation with PARTAD. The following depository rankings are developed in addition to the national rating: TOP 30 largest depositories ranked by deposited securities market value, a depository bank ranking, and non-crediting depository institutions separately ranked by deposited securities coverage factor (within appropriate deposited securities value ranges). The site also presents Russian depository ratings obtained in previous studies since 2000.

INFI started to rate specialized depositories as a topical part of the pension reform in progress in cooperation with PARTAD in 2003. The findings of the first 'pilot' studies (based on retrospective data over quarter 3, 2002 and overall year 2002 performance) were initially presented in the form of specialized depository rankings by a series of volume indicators. A national specialized depository rating (first developed using year 2003 performance) supplemented by a series of specialized depository rankings (TOP 100) has become the main result of such surveys since 2004.
